Shona Contemporary Sculptures Exhibition by Vengai Jeke
19-27 September 2011. This exhibition entitled Shona Contemporary Sculptures brings together the latest creations by the talented African artist Vengai Jeke.
Besides being a skilled sculpture, Jeke has a great ability to communicate with nature and particularly appreciates working with hard stones such as spring stone, opal, cobalt and serpentine, coming from the mountains of Zimbabwe.
His works are inspired by life oriented stories and especially by female experiences and struggles for life, such as the women’s cultural hybridization, feelings, thoughts and emotions in a globalized world.
