The fourth edition of Swahili Fashion week takes place in Dar es Salaam from 3-5 November.
The annual event is a platform for fashion and accessory designers from Swahili-speaking countries to showcase their designs. Top designers mingle with emerging talents from the east African fashion industry as they promote the “Made in East Africa” brand to a local and international market.
The brainchild of Tanzanian designer, Mustafa Hassanali, Swahili Fashion Week has become the biggest annual fashion event in east and central Africa since its foundation in 2008.
The venue for the fashion extravaganza is Karimjee Hall which also houses the mayor’s office.
