8 July 2011. This beat festival features a concert by some of the best local musical talents such as the top Kenyan afro-soul singer Dela, Mzungu Kichaa, Yvonne Mwale, Msafiri Zawose and Bongo Beat.
Dela has worked at close contact the group Sauti Sol during their tours to Europe. Her music mixes soul, reggae and afro fusion.
The reggae musician Mzungu Kichaa had a great success in East Africa with his first music video Jitolee in 2009. He also won an African Achievement Award at a prestigious award ceremony organised by the African diaspora in Scandinavia and he was selected as a judge for the last edition of the tv talent show Bongo Star Search.
The soul and reggae musician Yvonne Mwale was nominated Best Female Upcoming artist at the Zambian Ngoma awards in 2009. She has performed for a number of years with the group Nyali Band.
Msafiri is son of the late Dr. Hukwe Zawose who had several albums on Peter Gabriels label Real World and is considered one of the most talented traditional Gogo musicians. Gogo music has a rich history and a very unique sound.
