Turkish Airlines has launched direct flights from Istanbul to Entebbe in Uganda, with connecting flights to Dar es Salaam. The airline introduced the three-times-weekly service due to increasing trade between Turkey and the East African Community (EAC).
Flights leave Istanbul at 00.30 on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday, arriving in Entebbe at 06.50. From here passengers can take the two hour flight to Dar es Salaam with Turkish Airlines at 08.05.
The Turkish Ambassador to Tanzania, and Turkey’s representative to the EAC Sander Grubuz, stated that Turkey is continuing to establish greater links with the African continent. He noted that over the last two years his country had opened 14 new embassies in Africa, two of which were in EAC member states: one in Dar es Salaam and the other Kampala in Uganda.
Turkish Airlines serves 123 international destinations worldwide.
